Suzanne Abair became a partner of the Atlanta Dream in February 2021 and oversees the day-to-day operations for the organization. She works closely with the team’s senior leadership to ensure the goals established for the organization are being met while also serving as the team’s representative with the WNBA Board of Governors.
Abair also continues to serve as president and chief operating officer for Northland Investment Corporation, a $10 billion real estate platform where she oversees the day-to-day management of all aspects of Northland’s operations and leads certain strategic initiatives. She joined the company in 2004 and served as general counsel for twelve before becoming COO.
Today, Northland employs more than 650 people in 16 states and their real estate portfolio includes more than 26,000 multifamily units and 2.1 million square-feet of commercial space. Northland has been recognized by industry members on lists that include Best Places to Work in Multifamily, and the firm focuses on philanthropic initiatives to empower women, combat racism and end homelessness.
Before joining Northland, Abair was a partner at the law firm of Mintz Levin Cohn Ferris Glovsky and Popeo PC, in Boston. She was previously an associate at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP in New York City.
Suzanne holds a Bachelor of Science from Ithaca College, magna cum laude, and a Juris Doctor from SUNY Buffalo School of Law, summa cum laude. She serves on the Board and as a member of the Executive and Finance Committees of YW Boston, a not-for-profit organization whose mission is eliminating racism and empowering women.
